Here are important household items you should be able to write:

|---|---|
| غُرْفَةُ النَّوْمِ | bedroom |
| غُرْفَةُ الْقِرَاءَةِ | living room |
| غُرْفَةُ الطَّعَامِ | dining room |
| مَطْبَخٌ | kitchen |
| حَيٌّ | courtyard |

| غَسَلَ (يَغْسِلُ) | to wash |
| دَخَلَ (يَدْخُلُ) | to enter |
| خَرَجَ (يَخْرُجُ) | to exit |
When you see a picture, think about:
- What object is shown?
- What action is being done with it?
Example 1: Cooking
- Object: مَطْبَخٌ (kitchen)
- Action: يَطْبَخُ (to cook)
- Combined: هُوَ يَطْبَخُ فِي الْمَطْبَخِ (He cooks in the kitchen)
Example 2: Sleeping
- Object: غُرْفَةُ النَّوْمِ (bedroom)
- Action: يَنَامُ (to sleep)
- Combined: أَنَا نِمْتُ فِي غُرْفَةِ النَّوْمِ (I slept in the bedroom)
Example 3: Cleaning
- Object: مِكْنَسَةٌ (broom)
- Action: يَكْنُسُ (to sweep)
- Combined: هِيَ تَكْنُسُ بِالْمِكْنَسَةِ (She sweeps with the broom)
Look at the picture, then write the correct word:
Picture 1: A child sleeping on a bed → Answer: نَامَ (He slept) or يَنَامُ (He sleeps)
Picture 2: A mother cooking food → Answer: طَبَخَتْ (She cooked) or تَطْبَخُ (She cooks)
Picture 3: Someone sweeping the floor → Answer: كَنَسَ (He swept) or يَكْنُسُ (He sweeps)
Remember to write words correctly in their singular form:
| Singular (مُفْرَد) | Plural (جَمْع) |
|---|---|
| كُوبٌ | أَكْوَابٌ |
| صَحْنٌ | صُحُونٌ |
| سِكِّينٌ | سَكَاكِينُ |
| كَلْبٌ | كِلَابٌ |
| قِطَّةٌ | قِطَطٌ |
- Always write Arabic words with correct spelling
- Match the verb form (past or present) with the correct subject pronoun
- Use the singular form of nouns unless asked for plural
- Connect objects and actions to describe what happens at home
In Tanzania, you can use this vocabulary when talking about your home in Arabic. For example, if you visit a Swahili-speaking friend's house and want to describe your own home in Arabic, you can say "فِي بَيْتِي ثَلَّاجَةٌ" (In my house there is a refrigerator) or "أُمِّي تَطْبَخُ الطَّعَامَ" (My mother cooks food). This helps you communicate about everyday home life using Arabic.
