1. Besides and In Addition

2. Although and However

Use these to present contrasting ideas.

• Although introduces a contrast in the same sentence (subordinating conjunction)
• However introduces a contrasting idea in a new sentence (conjunctive adverb)

Example:

Although the harvest was smaller this year due to drought, the cooperative still earned a profit. However, members must plan better for next season.

3. Therein and Thereof

These are formal words meaning "in that thing" or "of that thing." They are common in legal, academic, and official documents.

• Thereof = of that thing mentioned
