Waste refers to any unwanted, discarded, or unusable material that makes a place dirty or unhygienic. The terms "waste" and "dirt" are often used interchangeably, but they have distinct meanings:

• Dirt is associated with substances that make objects unclean (e.g., dirty clothes, dirty water, or a dirty body). It can often be identified by its appearance or smell, such as sewage odor or stained fabric.
• Waste, on the other hand, consists of physical materials that are disposed of after use. These include broken bottles, food leftovers, plastic wrappers, paper scraps, and fallen tree leaves.
