The concept of liberation struggles in the African continent

Liberation struggles in the African continent can be divided into two:

1. Former liberation struggles and
2. Current liberation struggles.

Former liberation struggles

Former liberation struggles refer to the movements waged by Africans to demand their independence from colonialism.

Current liberation struggles

Current liberation struggles refer to the movements against neo-colonialism.

These struggles focused on initiating and stimulating movements against harassment, oppression, and dictatorship to Africans. Similarly, they involve the fight against the current invasion that perpetuates the exploitation of African resources in African countries. It should be noted that the independence attained between the 1950s and the 1990s was mainly political and less economic. Hence, this struggle aims at liberating Africans from all forms of injustice, including economic exploitation and oppression, in order to achieve complete independence.
