- Identify the form and content of wishes and messages
- Write wishes and messages to parents, teachers and friends
- Prepare a schedule of daily routines
A daily routine schedule is a list that shows what we do and at what time we do it each day. It helps us organize our time and remember all our activities.
A schedule has two main parts:
- Time – when we do something (e.g., 6:00 a.m.)
- Activity – what we do (e.g., wake up)
Look at this simple schedule:
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 6:00 a.m. | wake up |
| 6:15 a.m. | take a bath |
| 6:30 a.m. | have breakfast |
| 7:00 a.m. | go to school |
From the story about Olewado, we can make this schedule:
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 5:30 a.m. | wake up |
| 5:40 a.m. | cook tea |
| 6:00 a.m. | take breakfast |
| 6:10 a.m. | take a bath |
| 6:15 a.m. | say prayers |
| 6:25 a.m. | put on school uniform |
| 6:55 a.m. | arrive at school |
Notice how the activities are listed in order from morning to when school starts.
- Think about all the activities you do each day
- Put the activities in order – start from morning and continue until night
- Write the time next to each activity
- Check that you have not missed any important activity
- Make sure the times are correct (a.m. for morning, p.m. for afternoon and night)
- wake up – get out of bed in the morning
- take a bath – wash the body
- have breakfast – eat food in the morning
- go to school – leave home for school
- return home – come back from school
- go to bed – sleep at night
Use the words in the box to fill in the blanks:
6:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. 6:30 a.m.
| Time | Activity |
|---|---|
| 1. _______ | wake up |
| 2. _______ | go to school |
| 3. _______ | have breakfast |
| 4. _______ | go back home from school |
Put these activities in the correct time order. Write numbers 1–5.
- _______ Have breakfast at 7:00 a.m.

- _______ Wake up at 6:00 a.m.
- _______ Take a bath at 6:15 a.m.

In Tanzania, farmers use daily routine schedules to plan their work. For example, a farmer in Mwanza may write: 6:00 a.m. – wake up, 7:00 a.m. – feed the chickens, 8:00 a.m. – go to the farm. This helps them remember all tasks and use their time well. You can also use a schedule to plan your homework time after school, so you finish your studies before playing with friends.
